Andrew, a San Francisco native with Viking roots, took up sailing on the Bay over 20 years ago. He has since sailed his own boats to Mexico and around the Mediterranean many times.
In 2018, Andrew logged his first ocean crossing, helping a friend sail an Amel 54 across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. After 18 days offshore, they eagerly arrived on December 31. Sleep deprivation did not stop the all-night New Year's Eve celebration in Guadeloupe!
These days, Andrew is often out on the Bay teaching for Modern Sailing or sailing a 38-footer that he and a buddy have owned together since the Mexico voyage in 2006. In the summer months, he often travels to his favorite sailing territory to enjoy the warm sunshine, fresh breezes, and turquoise seas of Croatia and the beautiful Adriatic Coast.
