A Night of Festive Fun with Our Members and Guests at the 38th Annual Winterfest event
This year, Modern Sailing made a spectacular appearance at the 38th Annual Sausalito Lighted Boat Parade, bringing our Club Sail members and guests into the spotlight on a special evening. Our beautifully decorated catamarans, Kanaloa, Fountaine Pajot, and Ho'Okele, Seawind 1160, were adorned with festive lights and holiday cheer. Kanaloa, skippered by Aron Solberg, took center stage and won second place in the Sail category, with its light display and festive spirit.
The Sausalito Lighted Boat Parade, one of San Francisco Bay's most cherished holiday traditions, transformed the water into a dazzling display of lights, with boats of every shape and size gliding through the bay in a brilliant celebration of the season. But this night wasn’t just about the boats—it was about the Club Sails members and guests who joined us for this special event. From first-time sailors to seasoned veterans, the Sausalito Winterfest brought together people from all walks of life to celebrate the holidays in one of the most stunning settings in the world.
Our members truly embraced the holiday spirit, coming together to share in the joy of the season, the excitement of sailing, and the natural beauty of the Bay. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do—creating experiences that unite people, spark new connections, and deepen our shared love for the water. For us, the parade was a perfect opportunity to not only showcase our passion for sailing, but also connect with the local community in a meaningful way.
Despite some strong winds and a brief power outage, the Sausalito Yacht Club kept the celebrations going, and the energy was infectious. Members and their families had a blast, and it was the connections made that truly defined the evening. From festive lights to shared laughs, this parade was a reminder of the camaraderie and community that make Modern Sailing so special.
We’re proud to have represented Modern Sailing in such a special event. Despite the power outage from the strong winds, the Sausalito Yacht Club did a great job keeping the celebrations going. We all had a great time - it’s the connections made with friends, families, and fellow sailors that truly made this experience unforgettable.
