Discover St. Lucia and the enchanting Windward Islands of the Caribbean with Modern Sailing School & Club!

The Windward Islands offer a delightful cruising venue of lush tropical islands draped with stunning bays and white sand beaches that spill into warm turquoise waters.

Set sail with us into paradise, dig your toes into white sand, dive into coral gardens, and leave the cares of the world behind.

Reserve your cabin on one of the club catamarans with a professional captain, or skipper your own bareboat with family and friends, supported by the experts leading our flotilla.

Why sail the Windward Islands with a Modern Sailing flotilla?

The Windward Islands of the Southern Caribbean offer a wonderful blend of brisk open ocean sailing with balmy temperatures, tropical trade winds, and warm, crystal-clear water year-round. This island chain offers gorgeous beaches and an abundance of sea and shore adventures. Enjoy snorkeling off remote cays, kayaking, unique cuisine, excellent diving, and exploring while enjoying the relaxed pace of “island time.” The spring months provide ideal conditions for sailing and exploration. Delight in brisk sailing on bright, sunny days over long stretches of blue water with steady trade winds filling your sails, an occasional refreshing rain squall, and picturesque rainbows.

Joining a Modern Sailing Global Destinations flotilla is a great way to gain experience cruising on unfamiliar waters. Whether participating as crew on a captained boat or as skipper of your own bareboat, this adventure will help you prepare for your first (or next!) vacation charter or long-distance cruise while you enjoy the camaraderie, reassurance, and safety of sailing with a friendly group lead by our professional captains.

This trip has limited cabin space aboard 2 captained catamarans. Three bareboats will also be available.

Testimonials

  • Esther C

I took ASA 101 with them recently. They have the best customer service I've ever seen! I mistyped my address when I signed up online so didn't receive the textbook. I called and the lady immediately sent me another copy! Everyone at the club is super friendly.

  • Rolf Zingg

Since many, many years, I had the dream to sail underneath the Golden Gate bridge. On October 14th last year, my dream became true. Thanks to our dear friend Aaron Fritz who made it possible and organized this cruise for us. With this adventure I was able to achieve one more milestone on my sailing career.

Finally on the water, it was great! Full moon made the flows even stronger and it was like sailing in a washing machine.

I did my sailing education in the English Channel, where the situation with the wind and flows is comparable to the San Francisco Bay. So I felt pretty much "at home" being on the helm in the Bay.

I hope our skipper Stan Lander enjoyed this day cruise too. We, definitely did! It was an unforgettable experience for all of us.

A very big thank you to all of you who made it possible, that my dream became reality! Also thank you for the MSC flag I got at the end of the day. It found it's place in my study, where I can see it daily.

I would like to compliment Stan Lander for his coaching, counseling and teaching Heavy Weather Offshore Sailing. Stan was very accommodating to all of the student's interests and shared his many years of insight on handling the boat in heavy seas. I would certainly recommend Stan and this course to sheltered waters sailors. My confidence in handling a boat of this size was certainly enhanced by the experience.
