In September, twenty-six Modern sailors headed to Italy to cruise the spectacular Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Naples.
The photos captured by Trip Leader Captain Stephen Spoja and our CEO Leigh Hunt give us a glimpse into the beautiful scenery, art, culture, and unforgettable sailing enjoyed by our captains and crew.

Beautiful sailing!
The flotilla stopped for lunch and a swim at Castle Aragonese, Ischia. Adverse winds (33 knots) kept them from anchoring there overnight.

After beautiful conditions at the start of Leg 2 , the flotilla was stricken was rain and messy conditions, necessitating some changes of itinerary.
Mother Nature reminded our crew who is in charge. It rained for 7 days of the 10 day trip. According to Captain Spoja, "Capri was a soaker!"
This is sailing, folks!
Our CEO Leigh made new friends in Amalfi as soon as the rain stopped.

The flotilla followed this weather window between squalls to Vico Equense, Sorrento.
Not part of the original itinerary, the flotilla diverted to Vico Equense Marina and found themselves to be the only cruising boats in the marina (front and center of the photo). Well off the beaten cruising path, the crew were compensated for the challenges they encountered with the discovery of this locale's charming treasures.
