Farallones Day Trip

The Farallones Islands. Spend a day sailing out the Golden Gate and to the Farallon Islands with Modern Sailing School and Club

One Day, 8am - 8pm

Rich in marine wildlife and rugged beauty, our Farallones sailing expedition is a must for sailors of all levels. This one-day "blast" out to the Farallon Islands is also a great opportunity to get some ocean sailing experience under the guidance of a skilled instructor.

The trip takes place aboard one of our radar-equipped bluewater vessels, Coho II, a Spencer 1330 monohull, or Moon Dance, a Bavaria 42' monohull. The outing begins at 0800 and usually returns about 12 hours later. In some cases, we can get there and back in less time.

This adventure is open to sailors of all skill levels, but some sailing experience is highly recommended.

$325 for members, $395 for non-members

The meeting room was quite adequate and the location most convenient, but the course outline and instruction were outstanding. Modern Sailing is fortunate to have such a well organized instructor in Mr. Stan Lander who teaches very well from a rich professional background. Mr. Lander was generous with his time and patiently in helping students who needed more attention or time in understanding various aspects of the curriculum.

I've taken two classes at MSS&C and was very happy with the program. This is also a great club with lots of opportunities for camaraderie and practice on the water. The boats in the fleet are fantastic and kept in tip-top shape. I highly recommend for all sailors and would-be sailors!
