Dust off your topsiders and come join us for a one day tune up in preparation for getting back on the water on your own. We will be covering all the essential skill sets that are easy to forget if you haven't been sailing on a regular basis. This one day informal class is for former students or sailors with some experience who haven't sailed in a while and are interested in brushing up in preparation for the up and coming sailing season. Emphasis is placed points of sail, reefing, crew overboard recovery and docking. Limited to four students. Cost is $150 for members, $175 for non-members.
     
  Docking Clinic  
     
  Docking can cause a lot of anxiety among new sailors, and it's important to feel confident and comfortable when maneuvering in and out of your slip. Unfortunately, there is no way around not having to dock and having that confidence will make you a better sailor and skipper. Join us on this one day course where you will not only learn docking techniques, but practice maneuvering the boat under power in a variety of conditions. Don't fall victim to a sloppy docking job again - enroll today! Cost is $175 for members and $195 for non-members.

Sailing Lessons and Clinics on San Francisco Bay in Sausalito at Modern Sailing School & Club
  Learning how to control the shape of your sails can greatly enhance your sailing experience. Whether you are a racer looking to gain ground or a cruiser interested in maximizing your efficiency, this course is a must. After a short discussion about the theoretical components of sail trim, you will have a chance to get out on the water and learn how to fine tune the sails and reach your goals. Cost is $175 for members and $195 for non-members.
   
  Night Sailing Clinic
   
  Join one of our experienced instructors on a fun and educational night sailing course. Learn how to recognize navigational aids and other boats at night. Use the radar system and experience docking at night. AND - enjoy the city lights as you sail! You must be BCC certified or have equivalent experience. See you out there! Cost is $75 for members and $95 for non-members.
   
  Racing Clinic - Members Only
   
  This popular members only program spans 9 months of the year and will prepare you to confidently and competently race sailboats on San Francisco Bay. After you complete 3 on-the-water clinic (Starts and Mark Rounding, Sail Trim, and Spinnaker Sailing) and one classroom lecture on the Fundamentals of Racing, you are eligible to race in the Golden Gate Yacht Club's Summer Beer Can Series and are part of the Modern Sailing Club Race Team.

Clinics are held from January through April. The Beer Can Series begins in May and ends in September. Give us a call for details. See you at the finish line!
   
  Farallones Day Sail

Rich in marine wild life and rugged beauty, our Farallones sailing excursion is a must for sailors of all levels. This one day "blast" out to the Farallones is also a great opportunity to get some ocean sailing under the guidance of an experienced ocean sailing instructor.

The trip takes place aboard one of our radar-equipped vessels, usually the Caliber 40 or Beneteau 42. The outing begins at 0800 usually returns about 12 hours later. In some cases we can get there and back in less time. It is a informal sail and open to all experience levels. Cost is $185 for members and $225 for non-members.
