  Charter Policies

Due to high wind that we frequently experience on San Francisco Bay, we have a high wind policy.
OVER 20 KNOTS - You must have at least a 2nd reef in the main sail and fall off the wind to furl in the jib. If it is determined that you did not have a second reef in the main when winds speeds were clocked at the prescribed speed, you will be responsible for any and all damage caused to the vessel, other vessels or bodily injury.
OVER 40 KNOTS - If experiencing a sustained wind speed of more than 40 knots, you must drop MAINSAIL and JIB and motor back as quickly as possible. Once again, if it is determined that you DID NOT drop sails when wind speeds were clocked at the prescribed speed, you will be responsible for any and all damage caused to the vessel or bodily injury.

  Anchoring

Due to anchoring-related incidents in the past, the following Anchoring Policies are in effect. If your anchor becomes snagged and either you or the electric windlass is unable to retrieve the anchor, you must tie a fender to the anchor rode and release the balance of the rode overboard to be retrieved by a diver the next day. If you try to motor your anchor free and damage is caused, you will be responsible for any and all damage caused to the vessel. If you plan to anchor you must check with the office for preferred anchoring locations. NO RAFTING TOGETHER OF CHARTER BOATS TO ANY BOATS and NO TOWING OF OTHER BOATS.

  Restricted Sailing Areas

Due to accidents involving sailing through designated anchorages and marinas, the following Sailing Policies are in effect. Anyone sailing near shore or low water areas, through designated anchoring areas, or into/out of marina who causes damage to the charter vessel or any other vessel or property is fully responsible for all claims of damage. Piers 39 & 41 and Aquatic Park in SF are strictly forbidden. Also, Sam's Café in Tiburon is strictly forbidden.

  Alcohol On-Board

Anyone (skipper or guest) that is deemed intoxicated at the time of an accident will be fully responsible for all bodily injury or property damage as a result of that accident. (YOU ARE NOT COVERED IF DRUNK.)
